Froggrid

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 24, 2026

This is a privacy policy for the puzzle game known as Froggrid.

Froggrid is published by Low Expectations LLC under the developer name Low Expectations Dev. The Android package is com.lowexpectationstudios.froggrid.

You can play without an account. Offline play does not need a network connection. If you never sign in and never go online, nothing about you reaches our server.

What this game does not do

Froggrid does not:

  • Use your account or leaderboard data to build a marketing profile of you
  • Use Google Analytics
  • Use forced video ads, interstitial ads, or rewarded ads
  • Read your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or precise GPS location
  • Require login to play puzzles
  • Receive your Gmail address from Google Play Games. Sign-in uses a Play Games player ID and display name, not your email.

Playing without an account

You can open the game, solve puzzles, and leave.

If you stay offline, settings and offline stats stay on the device. Those local stats are not uploaded to the public leaderboard.

If you go online without signing in, the app talks to our server to fetch a puzzle and, if you finish, may send the result with an anonymous session ID. That result is not shown under a player name on the leaderboard.

If you sign in

Sign-in exists so we can put a name on leaderboards, keep your stats, and let you report a bad map.

Depending on how you sign in, we may store:

  • A display name, which other players can see on leaderboards
  • A username and a password hash, if you create a Froggrid username. We do not store the password itself.
  • A Google Play Games player ID and Play Games display name, if you use Continue with Google Play. We ask Google for a one-time server code, exchange it on our server, and keep the Play Games player ID so the same person can sign in again.
  • A session token on your device. The server stores a hash of that token, when it was created, when it was last used, and when it expires (normally 30 days).

We do not need, and do not receive, your Google account email for Play Games login.

Game results and leaderboards

When you finish a puzzle while online, the server may store:

  • Which puzzle you finished
  • Board size and difficulty
  • Completion time
  • Move, undo, reset, and hint counts
  • When the game started and finished
  • A short client version string
  • Your player record if you were signed in, or an anonymous session ID if you were not

Leaderboards are public. Your display name, times, hint counts, and how many maps you have finished can be shown to other players.

If a time looks impossible or the clock does not match the server, the result can be flagged and kept off the ranked board. That is anti-cheat, not advertising.

Map reports

If you are signed in and report a map, we store which puzzle you reported and which player sent the report, so reviewers can look at it and stop repeat abuse.

You cannot report a map while logged out.

Ads

Froggrid displays banner advertisements. Those ads help pay for the server and the work of making the game.

The Android app uses Unity Ads to serve banners. Unity and its advertising partners may process advertising identifiers, IP address and approximate location, device and app information, and ad impressions and interactions. This information may be used to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud, and personalize advertising where permitted by your choices and applicable requirements. We do not send Unity your Froggrid password or account login details.

Unity describes its data use, sharing with partners, retention, international transfers, and privacy rights in its Game Player and App User Privacy Policy.

Froggrid does not automatically tell Unity that you have consented to personalized advertising. The app currently relies on Unity's default privacy mechanisms rather than a separate Froggrid consent form. Where Unity presents privacy choices, you can use those controls. Unity's Data Privacy icon on ads provides access to its privacy information and choices, including data-access and deletion requests. Your device's advertising privacy settings provide additional controls.

Debug builds force Unity test ads. Release builds request live banner ads. The game does not request rewarded or interstitial placements.

Google Play Games

If you tap Continue with Google Play, Google’s Play Games Services run on the device. We use them only to prove which Play Games player you are and to create or reopen a Froggrid session. We do not post to your Google profile, read your friends list, or use Play Games as a way to email you.

What stays on your device

The game stores ordinary local settings: theme, color-vision mode, music and sound choices, last size and difficulty, whether you have seen the tutorial prompt, and offline stats.

A signed-in session token is stored in app preferences. Android backup may copy those preferences if device backup is enabled.

Server logs and security

The host sees IP addresses and normal request metadata because that is how talking to a server works. We use that for rate limits, abuse, and keeping the game up. We do not use request logs to sell ads.

Connections between the app and our server use encrypted HTTPS connections.

Account and game data is retained while the account remains active.

The server is hosted at OVHcloud.

Children

Froggrid is a general-audience logic puzzle and does not contain content intended only for adults. However, Froggrid is not directed to children under 13, and its online account features are intended for users age 13 and older.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If a parent or guardian believes that a child under 13 has created a Froggrid account or provided personal information to us, contact us and we will delete the associated account data.

Deleting your data

A signed-in player can delete their Froggrid account from inside the app.

Deleting your account removes the Froggrid player record, the Play Games link, the username login if you made one, and the game results attached to that player.

It does not uninstall Google Play Games from the phone, and it does not delete your Google account. Clearing the app or logging out only forgets the session on that device.

We do not keep a public copy of a deleted player on the live leaderboard.

Deleting a Froggrid account does not automatically delete advertising data held by Unity or its partners. Use Unity's privacy controls and the request methods in its linked privacy policy for that data.

If you no longer have access to the app, information and instructions for requesting account deletion are available here:

You may also contact us at privacy@lowexpectations.dev about deletion or privacy requests.

Changes

If the game starts collecting something new, this page will change and the date at the top will move. There is no other fine print hiding behind this one.
